Mindful Agility Workshop

Mindful Agility Training | April 29–30, 2025 | Camas, WA

Hosted in partnership with the Camas Police Department

Step away from the noise and reconnect with what keeps you grounded.

Mindful Agility Training is a two-day, science-based workshop designed for first responders, emergency medical teams, emergency department staff, crisis responders, and frontline social workers—anyone who regularly shows up for others in moments of intensity and uncertainty.

This immersive training blends practical mindfulness tools with insights from interpersonal neurobiology, trauma science, and resilience research. You’ll explore how occupational stress impacts the brain and body, and learn strategies to support emotion regulation, situational awareness, and clear decision-making under pressure.

Through guided practice, discussion, and practical application, you’ll develop skills to:
- Stay clear and steady under pressure
Train your nervous system to support focus, calm, and confident action during high-stress moments and critical incidents.
- Recover faster between intense calls, shifts, or client interactions
Learn simple, science-informed strategies to reset your mind and body—even when time is limited.
- Strengthen internal resilience and professional purpose
Reconnect with what drives your service, while building the capacity to sustain it without sacrificing your well-being.
- Navigate difficult conversations with greater presence and control
Improve interpersonal awareness and communication, especially in moments of conflict, crisis, or emotional charge.
- Identify and interrupt patterns of empathic distress
Recognize early warning signs of cumulative stress and learn tools to protect your mental and emotional health over the long term.

Whether you’re in uniform, in scrubs, on the front lines working with human crisis, or behind the scenes in crisis support roles, this workshop offers tools that meet the real demands of your work and your life.

This course is open to sworn and civilian public safety professionals, healthcare staff, social service providers, and their partners or spouses.

**Partners and spouses are welcome.** If attending with a registered participant paying full tuition, partners/spouses may register at a discounted rate of $199. We have a limited number of seats for partners/spouses attending separate from a registered participant. Please email us to coordinate your registration.

A mindfulness-based leadership workshop

The chaos begins in our sensory experiences. Let’s train to meet chaos at the headwaters and calm the flow of reactivity and expand our skillful response to the uncertainty.

Join us for an exclusive workshop tailored to public safety leaders navigating the complexities of high-stakes leadership in unpredictable environments. This small workshop delves into the neuroscience of occupational stress, interpersonal neurobiology and leadership, equipping you with practical strategies to maintain clarity, resilience, and grounded wisdom when it matters most.

Discover how mindfulness can enhance decision-making, improve team cohesion, and support your leadership under pressure. Don’t miss this opportunity to strengthen your leadership skills while fostering the mental agility and emotional regulation essential for success in today’s challenging public safety landscape.

A note about this training: This isn’t a workshop about how to lead. You know how to lead skillfully. The benefit of additional leadership theory and skills training is marginal, at best.

This workshop will introduce an opportunity to build skills in two domains: how you relate to yourself and how you relate to others.

Self: We will train in skills that enhance self-awareness and self-regulation, and self-compassion (all are challenging practices of personal discipline).

Others: Grounded in greater self-awareness, we will train in skills that allow us to notice the noise that emerges in our analysis of data, whether social, political, organizational, or tactical in context. This noise is often referred to as “judgement". We will train ways to notice the noise and separate it from actual or plausible objective observation (wise discernment). We will cultivate more capacity for working with uncertainty and strengthen a practice of wise discernment in the leadership landscape.

A light lunch and beverages will be provided.
